Lamorinda Local Events

Lamorinda and the cities of Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda all regularly host events meant to unite neighbors and create a strong sense of community. Throughout the year you’ll find many sports events, farmers markets, concerts, holiday festivities, and much more.

Lafayette Art & Wine Festival

As one of Contra Costa County's largest annual festivals, the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival is dedicated to creating a fun, safe, and family-friendly environment for attendees to enjoy the many attractions. This free-to-attend festival includes food vendors and trucks, quality wines and microbrews, live music on four different stages, and dozens of booths selling handmade crafts. There is also a kid zone for children.

Lafayette Reservoir Run

Traditionally held each fall in Lafayette, the annual Res Run for Education is a popular family affair that invites everyone from beginners to serious runners to participate in the 10k, 5k or the 2-mile run/walk for fun. Apart from seasoned runners, the "stroller brigade" is also welcome to participate alongside walkers and your furry, four-legged best friends.

Taste of Lafayette

Enjoy a day of live music, wine tasting, and plenty of food during the Tate of Lafayette restaurant stroll. Guests can purchase VIP food-tasting passports to taste food from 30+ restaurants. It's the city's favorite dinner party and the ideal place to enjoy friends, fantastic cuisine, and entertainment. Visit the participating vendors at your own pace while listening to music throughout the stroll.

Saint Mary’s Sporting Events

Saint Mary's College of California is a private four-year school and a top-ranked west coast university in Moraga that offers a nationally-renowned faculty and a robust athletics program. Boasting 16 NCAA Division 1 teams that include basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, and cross-country, there are always alumni and varsity games to attend throughout the year.

Lafayette Little League

The Lafayette Little League organization primarily serves the children of Lafayette, featuring about 700 registered plays ages 5-14 who play across seven different divisions. The league games take place at Buckeye Field, a picturesque setting with excellent conditions. But what is most remarkable about the local little league program is that it is run 100% by volunteers, with the majority of players' families involved in some way or another.

Lamorinda Local Swim Club

Lamorinda is home to many swim clubs offering a pool and lifeguards on-duty during designated hours. Those who love to swim will find no shortage of local clubs providing swimming pools, social events, and other swimming events. Most of the area's athletic and neighborhood swim clubs are open from May to October, although some are active year-round. The Moraga and Orinda Country Club also offer swimming alongside golf and tennis with different membership tiers depending on your level of interest.

Orinda Country Club

Established in 1924, Orinda Country Club has maintained a tradition of excellence for almost a century. As the East Bay's premier family club nestled among a pastoral setting, this beautiful club is known for cultivating lifelong personal connections with activities such as social gatherings, fitness, pickleball, tennis, golf, and aquatics. Additional amenities include the renovated William Watson golf course, signature culinary offerings, and award-winning swim and tennis facilities.

Moraga Country Club

Cherished for its picturesque setting among the rolling hills, Moraga Country Club is an elegant and prestigious Country Club and Homeowners' Associate with more than 500 private residences, a swimming pool, a beautiful 18-hole golf course, tennis facilities, and a restaurant. The newly-constructed 22,000 square foot clubhouse includes a lavish main dining room, bar, lounge area, and additional patio seating.

4th of July Parade

Celebrate Independence Day with Orinda's popular family-friendly community tradition. Starting in the early 1980s, Orinda began to celebrate the community and the patriotic holiday with a sprawling parade and numerous fun events. Today, the parade continues to entice thousands of visitors and guests to attend each year.
